Frequently Asked Questions

The Toy Library is a non-profit community service operated by St John’s Anglican Church, Ōtūmoetai. The day to day running of the Library is the responsibility of our Toy Librarian.

For every piece that goes missing, the Toy Library will fine you $1. This fine will be refunded when the missing pieces are returned. Otherwise, where possible, you are able to replace a missing piece with a suitable alternative.

If the piece that is broken (or lost) prevents the normal use of the toy, then we ask that you make a donation towards the replacement cost of the toy.

Otumoetai Toy Library does not place a limit on the number of toys hired per visit. This is up to parent discretion.

Under normal circumstances, your children (and you) are welcome to get the toys out of bags/boxes to play with in the Library. Please make sure they are put away when finished.

You can reserve toys to pick up at your next visit or a scheduled date in the future (i.e. for birthday parties). Please see our Toy Librarian to arrange.

We adhere to the Covid Protection Framework (i.e. traffic light system). This means: mask wearing and vaccination passports required.
